Volunteers and donations fuel our Thrift Store. Proceeds from the Thrift Store buys food for the Pantry, helps to cover financial assistance given, and funds some of the Center's operational expenses. Additionally, our Thrift Store assists Food Pantry clients with free basic clothing and shoe needs. In fact, our clients choose more than 65,000 articles of clothing and pairs of shoes in 2024!

Guidelines for Donating to Our Thrift Store

Donations are usually accepted when the Thrift Store is open. However, if you have large items or a large quantity of items, it's best to call ahead and speak with the Thrift Store Manager at 512-778-4175.

Some things we DO NOT accept:

  • Old electronics

  • Large quantities of books

  • Anything broken or in disrepair

  • Firearms of any sort

  • Kitchenware with food or drink on or in it

A Few Donation Reminders

We kindly ask that you:

  • Only donate during open hours - no overnight or after-hours drop-offs, please.

  • Use our main donation area behind the Thrift Store.

  • Donate thoughtfully: Ask yourself, "Would I buy this item for myself or a loved one in its current condition?" Items that are broken, stained, torn, or overly worn often cannot be resold.

Your thoughtful donations help us serve our neighbors with dignity and care. Thank you for making every item count!

To ensure the safety of our volunteers, when donating bagged items, please use kitchen-size (13 gal.) bags or smaller.  Thank you!
